Corporate Slavery

As I learned about network marketing, business in general, and concentrated on my goals and dreams, I searched the Scriptures for some insight about employment.
Generally speaking, I loved most of the jobs I had. I enjoyed the work and I enjoyed the people I worked with. However, what gnawed at my spirit was that I was NOT in control of my time or my future.
As I searched the Bible for some insight into my growing uneasiness, one interesting thing I found (or didn’t find), was any references to an employee-employer relationship. What I did find is only a slave-master relationship.
I discovered not much has changed in our working relationships over the past several thousand years – except perhaps some of the words we use to describe our relationships. It’s only perhaps in the last 100 years or so that our system of employment has even developed as we know it.
For centuries before, most people were either a master, slave or self-employed.
It’s my belief that the current so-called employment situation in our world today is closest to a slave-master relationship and one of the greatest barriers many people have in our culture is that they feel as though they are slaves to their circumstances. In other words, they DO NOT control their lives, but their lives are controlled by others and by their circumstances. It’s what I call Corporate Slavery.
Perhaps you feel that way. I know I did for many years.
I do not believe it has to be that way!
Now, for people who want to remain a slave or employee – that’s okay, but the apostle Paul has encouraged me to gain my freedom (1 Cor. 7:21). I believe network marketing has provided a vehicle to do that – and I praise God daily for the opportunity.
As we exert control over our own lives and begin to take responsibility for our own actions, we can be freed from the bonds of slavery in whatever form it manifests in our lives.
My passion is to help people to be blessed in the same way I am or as Zig Ziglar said, “To be the difference maker in the personal, family, and professional lives of enough people to make a positive difference in the world.”
As much as I would like to help everyone, I’ve learned I can only help those people who TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for their own lives, place a HIGH VALUE on good financial stewardship, and who are willing to LEARN HOW TO DO THE RIGHT THINGS!
