My first trip to Puerto Rico was in the winter of 2015 to accompany by brother on a house sitting job. We stayed at a nice couples home (Ed and Carolyn) in Fajardo and during the days would wander out to discover Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico enjoys warm, sunny and humid days most of the year with average temperature of 80 °F. There is no winter, spring or fall, only summertime. It took a few days to acclimate myself from the cold Kansas winter and once I did, it was pretty comfortable.

Boquerón is a barrio in the municipality of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. The village of Boquerón, located on the Boquerón Bay is one of the main tourist attractions in the southwestern part of the island.

Borinquen is a barrio of Aguadilla located in the northwestern tip of Puerto Rico. We had to drive out there and timed it pretty well with the sunset.

Borinquen is more than a name—it’s a symbol of Puerto Rican identity, resilience, and pride, connecting modern Puerto Ricans to their indigenous roots and their shared cultural heritage.
