I have never married but am still hopeful of finding my soul mate to spend the rest of my life with.
I’m a 50 year-old recovering hopeless romantic trapped in a 71 year-old body. I feel as though I have a much younger spirit trapped within me and I wish to meet someone I could share in the freedom of living life to it’s fullest and setting free our true inner selves.
I want to have fun in the remaining years of my life and explore new things and new adventures with the love of my life.
“Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.”
It seems some days are like opening a fresh box of sweet chocolate, and others are like finding that box empty. I strive to be positive and look forward each day to find the box full of new and fun experiences.
My life has been full with lots of great experiences, but one thing is missing… I’ve never been married… and I’m ready to see what my next chocolate will be. I hope to choose the one that’s someone to spend the rest of my life with, filled with fun adventures, intelligent conversation, emotional and physical intimacy.
I’m a caring, sensitive, romantic, compassionate and intelligent gentleman who longs to make my lady the most important person in my life.
Think of me as your big teddy bear you can snuggle up with and feel confident I will be there for you always. You can count of me always respecting you, being faithful to you, caring for you, protecting you, and I expect the same from you.
I’m not interested in superficial or one night stands. I want a deeply emotional and sensual relationship where we can both be the best that we are. I dream of finding my soul mate where we accept and love one another unconditionally for who we each are.
Some things that are important to me include:
- My salvation
- Relationships with others
- Truth, honesty and justice
- Adventure
- I like to laugh and always enjoy a good laugh with others.
The most influential person in my life…
Jesus Christ changed my life 34 years ago when I surrendered my life to Him, giving me a new outlook on life and expectation of a better future.
Secondarily, I would have to mention Zig Ziglar who said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.” His influence inspired me to reach higher and reawakened in me the dreams and goals that had been knocked down by life.
I was blessed to have a wonderful family of one brother and four sisters, and we are mostly still pretty close. They have moved out of state and I do miss the family get togethers we used to have.
God gave me a wonderful mother and father who instilled in me values that made me what I am today. My father is responsible for my sense of commitment. My mother is responsible for my sense of humor and expectation of a better tomorrow.
Now that I no longer have family in Wichita there’s really nothing holding me to remain here. Perhaps it’s time to open a new chapter in my life, sell my home, and begin to create new memories with a new family in a new city if necessary.
A perfect day for me nowadays is to do at least one thing that makes me and the world a better place and to live it authentically doing the best I can do to become the best God created me to be.
I feel the most comfortable at home sitting peacefully watching the grass grow, as my mom and dad used to say. I would enjoy cuddling on the couch in front of the fireplace listening to good music playing on the stereo.
But, I’m not a homebody either – I enjoy getting out and exploring new places, restaurants, theater, estate sales, and other local or regional events. I would like taking leisurely walks in the park holding my ladies hand or taking her out for a night of dancing and good music.
Hobbies and Interests
I am a storyteller. I have a passion for life and like to document my world in photographs and words and publish numerous blogs on the Internet. Photographs record the beauty of our world and the written word can inform and encourage people to be all they can be.
I like researching things that are unknown to me and am always learning about new things.
I’m politically conservative and would describe myself as a Constitutional Libertarian who tries to keep up on politics and current affairs.
Following the events on 9/11 I became more aware of the dangerous condition of our society and wanted to do my part to improve it. I learned about the importance of emergency preparedness and accumulating real money in the form of gold and silver.
I also became pretty active with several local amateur radio clubs (call sign: KØVAB) and enjoy meeting and talking with new people on the radio and in person.
What began as a living tribute to my dog Trixie has seemingly blossomed into a newfound gardening hobby. I got the idea from an article I read on the web about remembering the passing of a beloved pet. The suggestion was to plant a tree in honor of a passed pet. I wasn’t too excited about a tree, but a plant or bush sounded like a good idea. Thus, the beginning of a new chapter in my life and a new hobby.
This new activity seemed a perfect match with my photography skills and storytelling. While sitting on my back deck watching my flowers grow, I was often distracted by the many variety of birds I had visiting.
I couldn’t resist the urge to get out my camera and snap some shots. And yet, another new hobby developed of bird watching and documenting the many species I observed. It was wonderful to get outside more and begin to experience God’s nature in a whole new way.
One of my favorites is “End of the Line” by the Traveling Wilburys.
I enjoy listening to all kinds of music including pop, R&B, rock, jazz, classical, country, and oldies. I learned to play the guitar and thus I have a preference for acoustic guitar.
For me, music expresses the contents of our soul and I can get pretty emotional when hearing a beautiful piece of music. One of my favorite lyrics is from the song “It’s Who You Are” from the movie Secretariat; “Dying to live, living to try; Feet on the ground, dreams in the sky“. That pretty much sums up my new life mission.
It doesn’t take much to get me up off my butt and move with the rhythm of an upbeat song or to break out in tears when hearing a beautiful melody.
I am not real athletic and don’t participate in any sports besides swimming. Before the Covid nonsense I was going to the YMCA to exercise and swim. I need to get back in to doing that. And, of course, dancing is a great form of exercise I want to do more.
I enjoy traveling and taking short road trips. I’ve been to many countries in Europe and most of the states in the U.S. My favorite destinations are those in the Caribbean where it wouldn’t take much to get me to relocate there. Those all-inclusive cruises are also a lot of fun where you can visit some great places and be pampered with everything you need while onboard the ship.
Although I haven’t done much lately, I really enjoy riding roller coasters. One of my funnest experiences was when I did a personal 11 day roller coaster ride extravaganza of 29 roller coasters in 6 midwest amusement parks with the highlight at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.
My Ideal Lady
The kind of lady I’m looking for is someone who knows their Savior.
I want to experience God’s love together with my soul mate and dance together through life as if we were 20 years younger. She’s got to still have the zest of life in her and eager to experience the many blessings of God.
- She should have a youthful spirit and energetic. A younger woman (mid-40’s to mid-60’s) willing to date an older man, become my dance partner, and perhaps more.
- She should have a positive attitude, kind hearted, intelligent, loyal, and one my parents would like (although they are both dead now).
- She should be someone that is honest and true to themselves and others. She should be an open-minded lady that is accepting of people for WHO they are and tolerant of differences.
- She should be an encourager and committed to personal growth; bringing out the best in herself, me, and all people to become all that God created them to be.
- She should have compassion for others and not live her life blind to the sometimes harsh realities of life. I do not like narrow minded and shallow people that can’t hold an intelligent conversation and always finding fault in others.
- Someone with a curious and inquisitive spirit. Not someone stuck in her ways but open to new opportunities and learning.

Dating in these times are quite different than when I was younger and I’m trying to adapt. I’ve tried some online dating apps and web sites but only seem to find people with fake profiles and deceptive motives. For the most part, I’ve given up on those avenues and don’t expect to find the woman of my dreams there. Local singles groups have also been quite frustrating as they are mostly attended by a younger crowd wanting to drink away their loneliness and party at a local bar.
I think a quality lady deserves the respect, attention, and unconditional love of a committed partner. If that might be you, drop me a message, tell me a little about yourself, and I’ll get back with you. If you’re not honest with me about your intentions, please do not contact me.
