People have a desire to work from home for a variety of reasons. Some want to spend more time with their family while others have a health condition keeps them home-bound.
My main reasons for wanting to work at home is independence and time flexibility.
I quit my regular job over twenty years ago after spending decades following the whims of my employer. 
No longer do I have to listen to somebody tell me what to do or how to do it. I can now do what I want to do. And, the time flexibility is wonderful as I can work when I want or take time off whenever I want. No more asking permission for time off for a vacation or holidays. Plus, I was blessed with the opportunity to spend more time with my aging mother and to help her work through rehabilitation following a couple of strokes.
With the Internet and technology, working from home is well within our reach. Obviously, you’ll need a computer, an internet connection, and some basic computer skills to get started.
Another bonus of working from home has been the financial savings on gasoline for commuting and eating out lunches. The reduced mileage put on my car has also reduced all other auto maintenance expenses as well.
Did I mention the tax benefits of working from home?
Instead of having part of my income withheld every month by my employer and kept by the government for a year with no interest, I am now able to set aside that money in an investment vehicle such as silver bullion and pay taxes on my business income with the increase in silver value. Pretty cool. Now, instead of giving my money to Uncle Sam interest free, I’m able to earn interest on the money and pay less taxes at the end of the year.
There are a multitude of genuine opportunities available today for you to earn money working from home. There is an endless stream of freelancing work that you can pick up online ranging from data entry to web design. The possibilities are endless and the opportunities are everywhere.
With affiliate programs, for example, you can market other companies products and earn commissions on any sales you generate. There are lots of great network marketing companies that will pay you commissions while growing your sales team.
You can also try your hand at article writing if you have a creative flair. You can either publish your own articles online or write for someone else. If you publish your own articles you can be paid through Google ad sense when you get enough page views to your website. If you write for someone else you receive a payment upfront and lose all entitlements to that article.
Managing you time will be essential when you work at home.
You’ll need to discipline yourself to not be distracted by the many distractions that are sure to come your way. If you have regular unexpected visitors that think it is okay to just pop around to your place because you are home, place a sign on the front door stating ‘Do Not Disturb’.
